US President Donald Trump said March 5 that the United States should be involved in determining Iran’s next leader following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during U.S.-Israeli airstrikes.
Trump said he opposes the possible succession of Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
“Khamenei’s son is unacceptable to me,” Trump said in an interview.
“We want someone that will bring harmony and peace to Iran,” he added.
