US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said this week that Iran attempted to assassinate US President Donald Trump, revealing the allegation during remarks on the escalating conflict between Washington and Tehran.
Hegseth said the United States will respond forcefully to threats against Americans.
“If you target Americans, we will hunt you down and kill you,” he said.
