Iran Issues Stark Warning After U.S.–Israel Military Strikes
On March 2, 2026, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), through its Quds Force — the unit responsible for overseas operations — issued a forceful statement warning that the United States “will no longer be safe anywhere in the world, not even in their own homes.” The statement, broadcast on Iranian state television and carried by news agencies including AFP, came amid intense geopolitical and military escalation.
The IRGC asserted that “the enemy should know that their happy days are over,” signalling a dramatic escalation in rhetoric. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned what Tehran described as U.S. and Israeli strikes that hit civilian infrastructure, including a hospital and a school, saying Iran “will not remain silent” in the face of these actions.
Wider Conflict Context: U.S.–Israel Military Campaign
The warning follows several days of coordinated military action by the United States and Israel against targets inside Iran. According to Western media reports, the joint campaign has involved air and missile strikes on military infrastructure, including IRGC command facilities and air defence systems, as part of what U.S. officials describe as efforts to neutralize perceived threats from Iranian missiles and other military capabilities.
The U.S. President has stated that operations could continue “as long as necessary,” with some officials estimating the campaign might last four to five weeks but with the possibility of extending further.
